A New Chapter for Ecovida

After several beautiful years of life, learning and experimentation at the Ermita de Sant Honorat in Mallorca, the Ecovida project has closed this chapter on April 4th, 2026.

Sant Honorat was a living laboratory where we explored permaculture in practice:

regenerating soil, cultivating food, hosting volunteer days, workshops, retreats and building meaningful connections between people and nature.

This experience was made possible thanks to the many people who supported the project over the years — members, volunteers, participants and friends of Ecovida. To all of you, I offer my deepest gratitude.

Although this chapter has come to an end, Ecovida itself continues.

A Time for Learning and Exploration

Permaculture teaches us that growth happens through cycles. After years of sharing and teaching, the next step for me is to return to learning.

In the coming years I will travel to visit and collaborate with different permaculture and community projects — first in Ibiza, and later across mainland Spain and Portugal. The intention of this journey is simple: to learn from other communities, deepen my knowledge, and continue growing both personally and professionally.

Looking Toward the Future

The longer-term vision of Ecovida is to contribute to meaningful regenerative projects that support communities in becoming more resilient and autonomous.

One dream that lives strongly in my heart is to eventually develop or participate in a permaculture initiative in Cape Verde, on the island of Brava — a place connected to my family roots and where regenerative agriculture and food sovereignty could make a real difference for local communities.

This next chapter will take time. It will be a journey of learning, collaboration and inspiration.

Ecovida began as a seed. That seed continues to grow in new directions.

If you wish to stay connected with the journey, you are welcome to follow future updates and projects.

With gratitude,

Kevin Lomba
